Utility regulators have approved $350 million in rebates to encourage Californians to install water heating systems solar powered.
The State public services Commission on Thursday established the thermal California Solar Initiative program, which will be funded by $250 million to replace the natural gas-powered heating water, with $25 million for low-income clients. An additional $100.8 million will be used to Exchange water heaters powered by electricity.
